Solis Movement , a high-exertion hot yoga and pilates studio in Toronto, Canada has installed 5,000 sq ft of Woodura Planks 3.0. The renovated space radiates unique energy, “where the flow is a little faster, the energy a little stronger”.
With over 200 members attending the wide array of classes daily, the flooring choice was down to durability. Enduring high foot traffic and various physical activities can take a toll on the floor, so it was key to ensure longevity and practicality. Hardened oak flooring DALEN became the top contender with its powder white surface and superior pro matt lacquer surface treatment.
“The natural choice was to enhance the space with healthy, natural and sustainable materials so we didn’t have to look much further than Bjelin’s hardened wood flooring, Woodura Planks 3.0,” says Lisa Parise, Founder of Materialize, Inc, an interior design company that sources premium sustainable materials.
The choice of the plank size, Medium, creates a more intimate feeling than wider plank options. The light and airy space is welcoming while the oak flooring adds a tactile element that enhances the sensory experience. This flooring is a comfortable and durable choice with a contemporary touch.
The renovation of the space also saw an expansion with a new state-of-the-art reformer room. “This is not just an average yoga studio,” says Lisa Parise. “Solis combines principles of yoga, pilates and HIIT into all of their classes for the optimal workout every time.”
