A new Los Angeles condominium with a clean modern aesthetic
Bittoni Architects delivered the interior design for this new eight-story condominium with 63 units in downtown Los Angeles and installed 19,600 sqft of Woodura Planks STENINGE 3.0 in Misty White and 4,400 sqft of Woodura Planks in Earth Grey.

Bittoni Architects delivered the interior design for this new eight-story condominium with 63 units in downtown Los Angeles. To complete the job, they installed 19,600 sqft of Woodura Planks STENINGE 3.0 in Misty White and 4,400 sqft of Woodura Planks in Earth Grey.
The design brief Bittoni Architects received from their client was broad – create modern, comfortable living spaces that feel both luxurious and practical. To meet the brief and bring it to life in the 63 condominium units, one of the first things they considered was the flooring. We caught up with Mark Bittoni, founder and principal architect at Bittoni Architects, to find out more.
The condominium consists of both regular units and penthouses, and Bittoni Architects looked for ways to create a subtle difference between the two, while maintaining a harmonious, cohesive aesthetic throughout the building.
“For the regular units, we focused on warmth and functionality, while we designed the penthouses to feel a bit more exclusive – with more upscale finishes, higher ceilings, just a general elevated experience.”
The flooring was a big part of the overall color palette for the interiors. “We chose Woodura Planks STEHAG 3.0 floor in Earth Grey for the penthouses because the color adds a sense of richness and depth. And we chose Woodura Planks STENINGE 3.0 in Misty White for the regular units to keep them bright and open and make the spaces feel bigger.”
The choice of plank size was important too. Small for the regular units and XL for the penthouse units. “The smaller planks in the regular units help create a more intimate feel. For the penthouses, we went with XL planks to emphasise the sense of luxury and scale. They make the penthouses feel grander and more expansive.”
Sustainability was another important consideration when Bittoni Architects decided on the flooring for this project – as it is for all their projects. The resource-efficient production process used to make Woodura hardened wood floors aligned perfectly with Bittoni Architects’ sustainability priorities.
