Emma Gullström and Joseph Eriksson recently renovated their apartment and installed Bjelin's HÖJA 3.0 XXL flooring. The aim was to create a home for the whole family, where social spaces are the focus, especially the kitchen.
“The vision was a child-friendly home that doesn't feel childish,” says Emma. “Design and style were also important to us.” To achieve this, they chose a cohesive, durable and stylish floor that extends through all the rooms, giving the apartment a larger feel.
Having installed Bjelin flooring before and loving it, the couple made the decision to choose it again. “We were super happy with our Bjelin floor in our previous apartment,” says Joseph. “It was probably the thing we missed the most when we decided to move. Luckily, we had the opportunity to install Bjelin flooring in our new place as well.”
Despite previously choosing a herringbone pattern, this time they opted for the wide Woodura Planks 3.0, HÖJA. When they visited the showroom, they immediately fell in love with the XXL planks. “Given that our current apartment has so many odd angles, we thought the wide planks would fit better with the overall design,” explains Emma.
The couple chose a new pattern this time but selected the same colour, Misty White. Emma and Joseph feel it matches their style with warmer shades. “It provides an inviting and authentic feel,” says Emma. “The brushed surface also adds a rustic touch that’s timeless.”
Although they installed the previous floor themselves – something they felt was “a fun and rewarding process” – they contracted out the entire renovation this time. Sustainability was a key factor for them. “We want a durable floor that can last for generations and is made sustainably,” says Joseph.
Emma and Joseph are thrilled with the outcome. “We couldn't be more satisfied,” says Emma. “It complements the apartment and our style so well.” They especially appreciate having a stylish floor that is durable enough to fit their lifestyle with two lively children.
