Built for generations by the sea

At Omaha Seaside in Auckland, this family bach was shaped by a lifetime of construction know-how and a clear vision: a relaxed, durable space for generations to gather. After seeing Bjelin’s oak Woodura Planks in his son’s home, the client was confident it would be the right fit here too. Together with Ecodure Flooring, they chose hardened wood – three times more durable than traditional wood flooring – a choice well suited to a holiday home, standing up to kids, pets and everyday wear. The floating installation offered a practical, cost-effective solution, avoiding adhesives while simplifying the build. One summer in, with many more to come, the home is already proving its place as a lasting coastal retreat.
